A grid of repeated geometric medallions gives this hand-knotted wool rug a lively, global-inspired look. Each hexagonal and diamond motif is framed by angular fretwork and stepped accents, with small star-like shapes filling the negative space between them. The background is multi, punctuated by fields of green, navy blue, orange, ivory and violet that are woven together to create layered color effects. Dining Room
Choose a rug that extends at least 24 inches beyond each side of the table so chairs can slide in and out comfortably.
Entryway
A 3x5 or 4x6 rug works well for most entryways. Make sure it does not interfere with the door opening.
Living Room
For a seating area, choose a rug large enough so that at least the front legs of all furniture pieces sit on the rug. Common sizes are 8x10 or 9x12.
Kitchen
