Product Description

A tightly organized checkerboard of hand-cut cowhide squares creates a graphic yet organic surface. Each patch alternates rich brown background tones with accents of beige, ivory, cream, gold and deep black, and many tiles carry natural spotting and tonal shifts unique to the hides. The hand-stitching between panels forms a subtle grid that brings structure to the pattern, while the hair-on-hide texture offers a low, soft nap that you can feel when you run your hand across the rug. The leather and cowhide construction results in a tactile contrast between smooth leather undersides and the slightly raised, velvety fur.

This rug works well in spaces that balance warm, natural materials with clean lines — think a leather sofa and reclaimed wood coffee table in a living room, a layered floor treatment in a modern farmhouse entry, or under a dining table to add texture to a neutral palette. It also pairs nicely with industrial elements like black metal frames or warm brass accents, and complements both rustic and contemporary schemes that use wood tones and tactile fabrics.
