Product Description

A hexagonal patchwork across a multicolored ground gives this hand made cowhide and leather rug a lively, geometric presence. Each small hexagon is a distinct piece of hair-on hide or smooth leather — some dyed in saturated tones like hot pink, orange, light blue, purple and yellow, others left in natural shades of beige, ivory, brown and black or printed with animal motifs such as zebra and leopard. The alternating combination of solids, prints and metallic-tinged gold and light-brown pieces creates a mosaic effect that reads both modern and organic. Underhand, the seams between patches are visible and the hair-on-hide surface has a soft, tactile nap with subtle sheen where the light catches it.

This rug works well as a color anchor in a contemporary living room, bringing playful contrast to a neutral sofa or leather sectional. It also fits an eclectic bedroom or studio where layered patterns and textures are welcome, and it pairs naturally with mid-century modern furnishings or reclaimed wood tables to balance warmth and visual interest. Use it in an entry or gallery-style space to introduce pattern and movement without overwhelming the room, or place it beneath a coffee table to tie together brass accents, turquoise or coral textiles, and rich leather pieces.
