Product Description
The Mashad Collection presents a hand-knotted 10x13 rug, crafted from 100% wool, offering a traditional aesthetic with a deep red background. Delving into its design, the rug features a medley of colors including beige, black, blue, brown, green, ivory, navy blue, olive, and pink, woven into intricate patterns that pay homage to classic Persian motifs. The central field is adorned with symmetrical floral arrangements and vinery, surrounded by detailed borders that frame the piece beautifully.
This rug's texture is characteristic of high-quality wool, providing a soft and plush feel underfoot, while its low pile affords a sense of age and history, with minor condition notes specifying small spot damage – subtle signs of its journey through time. The inclusion of fringe adds to the authenticity and traditional charm of the piece.
This semi-antique rug would be well-suited for interiors seeking a rich, historic character, complementing spaces such as formal living rooms, dining areas, or grand entryways. Its timeless elegance pairs well with wood furniture, antique pieces, and a range of color schemes from neutral to vibrant. The rug could also serve as a focal point in a study or library, where its sophisticated palette and design would enhance the room's ambiance.

Dining Room
Choose a rug that extends at least 24 inches beyond each side of the table so chairs can slide in and out comfortably.
Entryway
A 3x5 or 4x6 rug works well for most entryways. Make sure it does not interfere with the door opening.
Living Room
For a seating area, choose a rug large enough so that at least the front legs of all furniture pieces sit on the rug. Common sizes are 8x10 or 9x12.
Kitchen
A runner rug works great in front of the sink or stove. For larger kitchens, a 4x6 or 5x8 can anchor the space.
Bedroom
Place a large rug under the bed so it extends 2-3 feet on each side, or use smaller rugs on either side of the bed.
Outdoor
Measure your patio or deck area and choose a rug that fits within the furniture grouping, leaving a few inches of clearance on all sides.
- Vacuum regularly on a low suction setting to remove surface dirt.
- Spot clean stains immediately with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Deep clean by hand using a mixture of cool water and mild wool-safe soap.
- Have the rug professionally cleaned every 3-5 years.
- Rotate the rug every 6 months to ensure even wear and fading.
Consider the existing colors in your room, including walls, furniture, and decor. A rug can either complement or contrast with these elements.
Lighter colors make a room feel larger and more open, while darker colors add warmth and coziness.
If your room has a lot of patterns, choose a solid or subtly patterned rug. If your room is mostly solid colors, a patterned rug can add visual interest.
