The piece
Jajim
Hand made of wool, this flat-woven piece pairs a soft beige field with narrow vertical stripes in warm rust and muted olive that form a simple, linear grid. A deeper, striped border runs along the long edges, and small, colorful knotted tufts—pinks, oranges, blues, yellows and greens—are dotted across the surface, adding a playful, tactile contrast to the low-profile weave. The surface feels slightly textured where the knots sit against the smoother wool ground, giving the rug both visual interest and a subtle hand-made character.
