Why we love Santa Fe

Santa Fe sits high in the desert at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and the light here is the stuff of legend. Mornings arrive crisp and gold, afternoons stretch out under enormous blue sky, and evenings turn the mountains a glowing watermelon pink. Wander the Plaza, admire the Palace of the Governors, and follow narrow lanes past earthen walls, carved wooden doors and chile ristras hanging bright red against the stucco. From Cerrillos and Lamy to Pojoaque Valley, Santa Cruz, Glorieta, Stanley and Edgewood, the whole region carries a deep love of art, craft and open space.

That spirit lives indoors too. Adobe homes with thick walls, beamed ceilings, kiva fireplaces and warm tile floors are made for rugs that add softness, pattern and color. Shoppers here are reaching for multi-color designs, turquoise, and natural tones, in modern, vintage and traditional styles, with rectangle rugs anchoring living rooms and bedrooms. Whether you want a bold statement or a quiet earthy base, Rugs.com is ready when you are. Shop what Santa Fe loves and bring that high desert glow home.

  • Turquoise and Desert Sky

Turquoise is a Southwest classic, and it feels natural in Santa Fe rooms. A rug with turquoise notes echoes the huge blue sky outside and pops against warm adobe walls.

  • Adobe Walls, Warm Floors

Thick earthen walls and tile or wood floors invite a rug with texture and character. Natural tones and hand woven pieces add comfort and keep a home feeling grounded and calm.

  • Art in Every Room

Santa Fe is a place that celebrates artists and makers. Multi-color, vintage and modern rugs turn a living room floor into a gallery piece that suits a collector's eye.

What Santa Fe loves

Santa Fe shoppers are leaning into multi-color rugs, turquoise accents and natural tones, a palette that echoes desert sky, sage and sunbaked earth. Modern designs sit comfortably beside vintage and traditional looks, and both machine made and hand woven rugs are popular choices. Rectangle shapes are the favorite, perfect for grounding a seating area beneath a beamed ceiling or warming a tile floor in a sunny bedroom.
