The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
A rich black ground forms the base of this handmade cowhide and leather rug, punctuated by irregular silver speckles and subtle brown undertones. The surface is constructed from small patchwork panels, so you can feel the short, velvety hair of each hide and the gentle seams where pieces meet. The silver markings create an abstract, splattered effect that contrasts with the deep black background, while the leather backing gives the piece a firm, grounded hand.

This rug fits well in contemporary and industrial interiors where a strong, graphic anchor is needed—place it beneath a low-profile sofa or centered under a coffee table to add texture without overwhelming the palette. It also works with warm wood furnishings and metal accents for a layered, masculine look, or as a counterpoint in a minimalist, monochrome setting to introduce subtle pattern and shine. The tactile quality of the cowhide makes it a natural choice for a study or den, and it pairs nicely with leather seating and neutral textiles.
