The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
A tightly stitched patchwork of small square tiles forms a deep, velvet-like black field punctuated by stepped chevron bands at the top and bottom in ivory, gray and beige. The geometric layout reads clean and modern: the dense black background provides strong contrast while the ivory squares trace a rhythmic, pixelated border that brings subtle visual movement. Hand-made of cowhide and leather, the surface has the slight nap and natural sheen of hair-on-hide, with soft, tactile variation between tiles and the fine hand-stitched seams visible underfoot.

This rug works well in contemporary and minimalist schemes where a bold, monochrome anchor is needed, or in an industrial loft to introduce warmth against concrete and metal. Place it under a coffee table to define a compact seating area, layer it over warm wood floors to add texture, or use it at the foot of a bed to ground a neutral bedroom palette. Its mix of graphic pattern and natural material pairs nicely with leather seating, clean-lined furnishings, and simple metallic or wood accents.
