Balouch
Hand-knotted of 100% wool, this piece presents a warm brown field threaded with ivory geometric medallions and a band of tiled niche motifs along one end. Stylized floral and star-like forms in orange, rust red and yellow punctuate the design, while a narrow patterned border frames the composition. The wool pile has a low-to-medium height with a dense, tactile hand; subtle tonal variation and the occasional irregularity in the weave are characteristic of handcrafted construction and add visual depth to the surface. Short fringe finishes the ends for a classic, finished edge.
