Mamluk Ziegler
A rich burgundy field hosts a centrally placed octagonal medallion worked in tight, geometric floral motifs, surrounded by a dense allover pattern of rosettes, tiny blossoms and angular vine elements. Four circular corner medallions and a stepped inner cartouche add formal structure, while a series of narrow borders — the closest in cream and tan with a scrolling vine — frame the design. Accents of black, blue, green, light green and gold punctuate the layout, giving depth to the warm red ground and highlighting the finely detailed motifs.
