A traditional Persian medallion layout set on a cream field, this handmade wool and silk rug balances an ornate central medallion with a field of scrolling vines and floral sprays. A deep red border frames the design, while the medallion and finer motifs introduce darker navy/black contrasts and warm tan and gold tones. Sage green, soft blue and muted rose accents thread through the pattern, and silk highlights catch the light across the finer details, creating gentle sheen against the plush wool pile. Dining Room
Choose a rug that extends at least 24 inches beyond each side of the table so chairs can slide in and out comfortably.
Entryway
A 3x5 or 4x6 rug works well for most entryways. Make sure it does not interfere with the door opening.
Living Room
For a seating area, choose a rug large enough so that at least the front legs of all furniture pieces sit on the rug. Common sizes are 8x10 or 9x12.
Kitchen
A runner rug works great in front of the sink or stove. For larger kitchens, a 4x6 or 5x8 can anchor the space.
Bedroom
Place a large rug under the bed so it extends 2-3 feet on each side, or use smaller rugs on either side of the bed.
