Tabriz
A formal Persian medallion layout centers on a layered starburst of petal motifs and fine floral arabesques radiating across a cream field. Corner spandrels with soft arch shapes and a triple border of geometric rosettes and vine motifs define the composition. Colors include cream as the ground, with beige and light brown foundation tones, gold highlights, touches of green and light blue, deeper navy blue in the medallion and border, and small red accents that punctuate the detailing. Hand-knotted in silk and Kork wool, the rug has a low, dense pile where silk highlights sit slightly above the wool, giving select motifs a soft, satiny sheen while the wool provides a warmer, textured feel underhand.
