The piece
Ghom Silk
This rectangular Persian rug from the Ghom Silk Collection is handmade from silk with a smooth, medium pile and fringed ends. The intricate composition centers on concentric circular medallions surrounded by dense floral vines, foliage, and avian motifs. Set against a rich dark brown field, the design is detailed in shades of tan, soft sage, cream, and muted rose, framed by a matching ornamental border and traditional script cartouches at the top and bottom edges.
