Dover takes the old oriental rug and lets it fade into something gentle. Medallions and borders look washed by years of sunlight, with patterns that drift in and out of the field, so the whole rug feels softly lived-in rather than formal. It brings a bedroom, a nursery or a reading corner calm, a little romance and a lot of charm.
There are two designs. One is a framed allover pattern: layered borders around a faded oriental field with medallion echoes at each end. The other floats a single airy medallion, speckled with tiny geometric flecks, on an open, borderless ground. Together they cover a range from vintage and traditional to shabby-chic, cottage and quietly modern.
Up close, the frieze yarn gives a fine, twisted texture with a soft, slightly tousled surface at a low 0.33 inch pile. The edges are fringeless and neatly finished. Each rug is machine made in 100% polypropylene and comes as a rectangle in a range of sizes, from a 2x3 accent to a 10x14 for the whole room.
