The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
Hand?stitched panels of cowhide and leather form a refined patchwork grid with a soft gray ground punctuated by brown and black linear markings. Each square displays subtle variations in tone and pattern—smoky striations and gentle shading—that give the surface an organic, lived?in character. The hair?on?hide feels supple to the touch with a low nap and a natural, muted sheen, while the leather seams provide a slight raised texture that reads as tailored detail underfoot.

This piece works well as an anchor in contemporary or transitional spaces: place it under a low?profile sofa and coffee table to introduce warmth and texture to a modern living room, under a dining table to add quiet visual interest to an industrial or minimalist setting, or layered over a larger area rug in a bedroom or study to define a seating zone. It pairs naturally with warm woods, matte metals, and a neutral palette of grays, taupes, and charcoal.
