The piece
Carved Pekin
Hand-knotted from 100% wool, this 7x10 rectangular rug from the Carved Pekin Collection showcases an expressive abstract composition. The textured gray background features a subtle heathered effect, framed by a solid black border and soft fringe edges. Intricate carved motifs, primitive symbols, and geometric shapes are rendered across the field in bold black, warm brown, and tan. The high wool pile provides a dense, plush texture underfoot while giving physical depth to the linework.
