The piece
Oushak
Hand-knotted and handmade in wool, this rectangular rug has a soft gray field punctuated by large-scale floral medallions and scrolling vine motifs in muted blues, pale golds, cream, soft green, and touches of warm rust. A broad blue border encloses the field with a repeating floral vine that adds structure to the overall pattern. The wool pile is low to medium in height with a dense, tactile feel—wool’s natural luster and subtle variations in tone give the surface a layered, handcrafted look and a comfortable underfoot presence.
