Product Description
This Lahour collection rug is a 4x6 hand-knotted piece, crafted from 100% wool, known for its durability and comfort underfoot. Reflecting a rich heritage with its semi-antique age (40-60 years old), the rug presents a predominately ivory background, which serves as a neutral canvas for the traditional pattern it hosts.
Colors deftly woven into the design include a harmonious mix of black, blue, burgundy, green, navy blue, red, and yellow, providing versatility in coordinating with various palettes. Intricate patterns adorn the borders and central field, demonstrating the artisan skill in creating symmetry and balanced compositions. Burgundy and navy blue hues dominate the border, framing the central ivory field that is accented with smaller, colorful motifs, establishing an elegant visual contrast. It is worth noting the rug has fringe on the ends, which adds a classic, decorative touch.
The rug bears the marks of time with condition details such as low pile spots, repair, and a spot stain—characteristics that attest to its history and use. These signs of wear are often valued by collectors and enthusiasts for their authentic charm.
Suitable for a range of interior design scenarios, this Lahour rug could elegantly anchor a living space, office, or study, providing a sense of warmth and cultivated taste. It would complement interiors that favor traditional, classic furnishings, yet it could also serve as a distinctive juxtaposition in a more modern, minimalist setting, where it would introduce pattern and history. Its size makes it a good fit for small to medium-sized rooms, offering a focal point without overwhelming the space.
