The piece
Kars
Hand-knotted from 100% wool, this rug presents a classic Caucasian medallion layout on a light brown field. Two large green octagonal medallions anchor the design, each articulated with ivory and brown geometric crosses and little red and gold floral accents. The surrounding field is punctuated with small rosettes in ivory, brown and red, while a sequence of narrow guard borders in red, green, gold and ivory frames the composition. The wool pile is dense and softly textured, offering a warm underfoot feel and a subtle natural sheen; short fringes finish the ends for an authentic, handcrafted look.

The rug’s warm light brown background and balanced palette make it versatile across several interiors. It grounds a traditional living room with leather seating or dark wood furniture, complements a cozy study or reading nook with layered textiles, and brings pattern and warmth to an entryway or bedroom. Pair it with reclaimed wood pieces and muted upholstery for a rustic or farmhouse approach, or use brass and matte-black accents to bridge the rug into a more transitional setting.
