The piece
Hereke Silk
Handmade in silk, this rug presents a classic Persian layout with a mosque-arch central field surrounded by an ornate floral border. The field glows in a soft seafoam/sage blue, punctuated by deep garnet red cartouches and floral motifs, with warm gold-beige and ivory in the surrounding border and fringe. Delicate vines, rosettes and palmettes are worked in shades of peach, olive and cream, giving the overall pattern a layered, refined look that reads as traditional with a gentle, decorative rhythm.
