The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
Hand-made from cowhide and leather, this patchwork rug arranges hundreds of small square tiles into a tight checkerboard mosaic. The multi background is punctuated by varied tones of beige, brown, ivory, and light brown, with scattered gold highlights that catch the eye. The hair-on-hide surface offers a soft, slightly textured nap, while the leather joins provide smooth, matte contrast—each tile showing natural variation in grain and tone that gives the piece tactile depth.

This rug works well as an anchor in a living room beneath a low-profile coffee table, layered over hardwood in an entry hall, or to add warmth and texture at the foot of a bed. It pairs naturally with warm wood furniture, leather seating, and brass or black metal accents, and complements contemporary rustic, mid-century, and eclectic interiors where a mix of organic material and subtle pattern is desired.
