The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
A tight, rectangular patchwork pattern arranges narrow strips of hair-on cowhide into a rhythmic grid of color and natural markings. The background color is Multi, while panels of brown, light brown and ivory alternate with variegated hide pieces that show speckles, spots and tonal shifts. Hand-stitched seams accent the geometry and the hair-on surface delivers a low, tactile nap with a soft, slightly glossy touch where the leather catches the light.
