The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
A linear patchwork of narrow rectangular hide strips creates a layered, modern-rustic surface in a multi-tonal background. Strips of beige, light brown, cream, ivory and deeper brown are interspersed with bold black accents and lighter flecked markings, producing a rhythm of color and subtle contrast across the field. Hand made of cowhide and leather, the rug has a low, hair-on-hide texture with a soft, smooth feel and visible stitch lines where each piece is joined, giving the piece tactile depth and natural variation in grain and tone.
