The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
Hand made of cowhide and leather, this patchwork rug is built from narrow rectangular hides stitched into a clean, grid-like pattern. The multi-colored field mixes beige, brown, light brown, tan, ivory, gray and black in varied natural markings—spots, speckles and tonal striations—that create a linear, checkerboard effect. The hair-on-hide surface is smooth with a low nap you can feel under your hand, while the stitched leather borders and seams give the piece a tactile structure and subtle visual contrast.

This rug works well in warm, layered interiors where texture is key: place it beneath a low coffee table to anchor a conversational seating area, layer it over a neutral sisal for added depth in a living room, or position it under a dining table to introduce pattern without overwhelming the space. It also complements leather sofas, reclaimed wood furniture and metal accents, making it a strong choice for modern farmhouse, industrial loft or eclectic contemporary schemes.
