The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
Handmade of cowhide and leather, this patchwork rug assembles narrow rectangular pieces into a dense, geometric mosaic. Deep blacks and navy blues form the backdrop while pops of red, pink, yellow, green, brown and gray punctuate the field, with occasional spotted leather pieces adding a playful contrast. The hair-on-hide surface feels soft underfoot and shows subtle nap and stitch lines between patches, giving the piece a tactile, low-profile texture and a crafted, layered appearance.
