A tightly stitched checkerboard of small cowhide squares creates a graphic, multi-tonal field across this handmade cowhide and leather rug. Each patch carries natural markings and slight variations in hair direction, producing a lively surface of black, brown, tan, beige, ivory and light brown. The visible stitching between squares adds a subtle grid texture underfoot while the hair-on-hide surface feels smooth with gentle variation from piece to piece.
