A patchwork composition of narrow rectangular hides forms an interlocking, basket-weave grid that gives this piece strong graphic movement. Hand-stitched seams and alternating horizontal and vertical strips create a tactile, layered surface with natural hair-on-hide texture. The multi background blends beige, black, brown, ivory, light brown, orange, and gray, with occasional mottled and speckled hide markings that add depth and visual interest. Made by hand of cowhide and leather, the rug offers a low, smooth pile with a subtle sheen from the hair-on-hide finish.
