The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
A tight checkerboard of small, hand-stitched squares gives this rug a crisp, graphic presence. Patches of black, ivory, beige, brown, orange and yellow are arranged across a multi background, creating a rhythmic, contemporary pattern that reads as both geometric and textural. The subtle irregularities where the squares meet and the slight shifts in tone from one patch to the next add visual depth without overwhelming a room.

Hand made of cowhide and leather, the surface has a low, velvety nap with a soft sheen and a pleasantly textured feel underfoot. The flat profile and stitched assembly make it easy to layer or anchor furniture—place it beneath a low sofa and coffee table for a modern living area, use it beneath a dining table to introduce warm contrast, or set it in an entry or office to bring pattern and natural texture to industrial or mid-century schemes. It pairs especially well with warm woods, brass accents, and neutral upholstery.
