Hand-knotted from wool with silk highlights, this rug presents a traditional Persian narrative design centered on an oval medallion. Fine, pictorial figures and courtly scenes are woven into a dense field of floral motifs and scrolling arabesques, while a layered border frames the composition with repeating cartouches and corner vignettes. The palette is multicolor throughout: deep indigo and turquoise contrast with warm golds, rose and brick reds, soft greens and ivory accents; silk threads add a subtle, focused sheen that sharpens the smallest details and outlines. Underfoot the wool pile feels gently springy and plush, and the silk highlights give a smoother, luminous texture where the pattern calls for extra definition.
