The piece
Jajim
Handmade of wool, this flatwoven rug presents a warm orange field punctuated by a vertical run of stepped diamond medallions in cream, rust, brown and small pops of turquoise, mustard and red. A graphic black-and-cream checked border frames the composition, while tiny multicolored flecks scattered across the surface add lively, handmade detail. The weave feels low-profile and tactile underfoot, with a firm, slightly textured surface and subtle irregularities that give the piece character.

The rug works well in warm, earthy interiors—think bohemian or southwestern schemes paired with leather seating and raw wood, or modern farmhouse rooms with neutral linens and layered textiles. It also provides a bold counterpoint in minimalist or midcentury settings, and is well suited to entryways, small seating areas, a cozy reading nook, or layered in a living room to bring color and pattern to the floor.
