Handmade of cowhide and leather, this patchwork rug arranges rectangular hide panels into a tight geometric, basketweave-like pattern. A warm orange background carries the design while varying shades of brown form short vertical and horizontal bars that punctuate each square. Running a hand over the surface reveals the short hair of the hide, a subtle natural sheen, and the defined seams where each patch is hand-stitched, with smooth leather edging that provides a clean, structured finish.
