The piece
Cowhide - Patchwork
A hand-made patchwork of cowhide and leather, this rug presents a tightly arranged grid of horizontal rectangular tiles on an orange ground. The background orange carries warm, varied tones from golden amber to deeper honey, set against rich brown blocks that create a steady, geometric rhythm across the surface. Each hide patch shows natural variation in color and nap, and the visible leather stitching between pieces gives the rug a tactile seam detail and a subtle, raised texture when you run your hand across it.

The rug’s bold, patterned look pairs well with clean-lined, modern furnishings as well as rustic or southwestern palettes—think warm wood finishes, black metal accents, and leather upholstery. It can anchor a living room seating group, sit beneath a rectangular dining table, or define an entryway with strong visual impact. Because it’s hand-made of cowhide and leather, it brings both visual warmth and a durable, tactile quality that complements layered, textural interiors.
