Türkiye has a rich history of rug weaving that dates back to the 13th century. The Turkish are world-renown for their rug designs, manufacturing quality, and innovations which made rugs accessible to the masses. Gaziantep, Türkiye grew to become the prominent location for manufacturing carpets, supplying the world with fine and affordable floor coverings. The Turkish rug-making tradition is kept alive today by a new generation of skilled weavers who use the same techniques and materials as their ancestors. Turkish rugs are still highly prized for their quality and beauty.

Whats Happening Now & How You Can Help

The devastating and tragic earthquakes in Türkiye have left many of our manufacturing partners in Gaziantep in need of our support. We are actively seeking ways in which we can help rebuild and heal our communities, and we kindly ask that you help us with these efforts.  Currently, two of Unique Loom's production facilities in Gaziantep have been designated as structurally sound, and they are operating them as shelters for those in need. They have also set up two pop-up kitchens to provide food for those sheltering, as well as anyone else. In situations like this, nothing is enough and we hope to do much more together for those affected by this unprecedented disaster. Unique Loom is one of our primary manufacturers, with over 350 employees that are responsible for making most of the rugs (and rug pads) that add warmth, comfort, and style for millions of our customers. Unique Loom has assumed the responsibility of helping community members with food and shelter – things that were once taken for granted but have become scarce. We know it is the beginning of a beautiful story of triumph, but it is a long and challenging path ahead.
