The piece
Kazak
Hand-knotted construction in 100% hand-spun wool creates a rug with a warm, tactile presence. A rich red field sets the stage for an orderly array of geometric medallions, star motifs and small floral anchors in blue, gold, green, cream and brown. A cream guard border decorated with repeating star motifs and a narrow blue inner band gives the composition a crisp frame, while the hand-spun wool pile shows subtle tonal variation and a low-to-medium nap that feels substantial and soft underfoot.
