Product Description
The Kilim Fars 8 Ft Runner is an authentic hand-knotted wool piece that offers an array of vibrant colors and a traditional geometric pattern. This rug features a bold rust-red background, highlighted with accent shades of beige, black, blue, brown, orange, red, green, and ivory, which contribute to its visual depth and intricate design.
The texture of this runner is indicative of its handcrafted wool construction, providing a durable and tactile surface. The flatweave technique used in Kilim rugs is noted for its strength and longevity. This particular runner shows signs of its storied past, with condition details including missing fringe and a spot stain that testify to its semi-antique status, ranging from 40-60 years old. The presence of fringe on the rug adds to its traditional aesthetic.
This Kilim Fars runner would be well-suited for a variety of interior design scenarios. Its elongated shape makes it ideal for hallways, foyers, or alongside a bed in a bedroom, offering a dynamic visual anchor to the space. The rich palette and classic pattern can complement both contemporary and eclectic decors, bringing warmth and a sense of history to a room. Designers might leverage this runner to add a pop of color in a neutral setting or coordinate it with other global textiles and furnishings for a layered and curated look.

Dining Room
Choose a rug that extends at least 24 inches beyond each side of the table so chairs can slide in and out comfortably.
Entryway
A 3x5 or 4x6 rug works well for most entryways. Make sure it does not interfere with the door opening.
Living Room
For a seating area, choose a rug large enough so that at least the front legs of all furniture pieces sit on the rug. Common sizes are 8x10 or 9x12.
Kitchen
A runner rug works great in front of the sink or stove. For larger kitchens, a 4x6 or 5x8 can anchor the space.
Bedroom
Place a large rug under the bed so it extends 2-3 feet on each side, or use smaller rugs on either side of the bed.
Outdoor
Measure your patio or deck area and choose a rug that fits within the furniture grouping, leaving a few inches of clearance on all sides.
- Vacuum regularly on a low suction setting to remove surface dirt.
- Spot clean stains immediately with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Deep clean by hand using a mixture of cool water and mild wool-safe soap.
- Have the rug professionally cleaned every 3-5 years.
- Rotate the rug every 6 months to ensure even wear and fading.
Consider the existing colors in your room, including walls, furniture, and decor. A rug can either complement or contrast with these elements.
Lighter colors make a room feel larger and more open, while darker colors add warmth and coziness.
If your room has a lot of patterns, choose a solid or subtly patterned rug. If your room is mostly solid colors, a patterned rug can add visual interest.
