Why we love Somerset
Somerset sits in the rolling hills of south-central Kentucky, close to the long, winding shoreline of Lake Cumberland, a beloved spot for houseboats and fishing. Mornings here bring mist lifting off the water, afternoons bring boats and bright sky, and evenings settle into a green, hushed glow over the ridges. Science Hill, Pulaski, Ferguson, Bronston, Alcalde, Pointer and Sloans Valley give the area a close-knit, small-town warmth, with farmland, woods and creeks all around.
That easy rhythm carries indoors. Homes here are made for gathering, for boots by the door, for kids and dogs coming in from the lake, and for family dinners that run long. Shoppers in the Somerset area are leaning toward navy blue, green and black, in modern, traditional and country/cottage looks. Round and rectangular shapes anchor living rooms and dining spaces beautifully. Browse the favorites on Rugs.com and find the rug that makes your home feel as good as a day on the water.
Shop Somerset's favoritesLake Colors Indoors
The blue-greens of Lake Cumberland and the leafy greens of the surrounding hills translate naturally into navy and green rugs that make a living room feel calm and connected to the outdoors.
Country Cottage Comfort
Small-town porches, quilts and farmhouse kitchens invite a hand braided or cottage-style rug, adding handmade character and a welcoming layer underfoot in any cozy room.
Made for Busy Homes
Lake days mean damp shoes, muddy boots and happy pets. A sturdy machine made rug in a rich, dark shade handles it all, keeping a family room or hallway looking sharp season after season.

What Somerset loves
Right now, Somerset shoppers are choosing deep navy blue, leafy green and bold black, colors that echo lake water, wooded hills and evening sky. Modern, traditional and country/cottage styles all have a place here, from clean-lined living rooms to cozy farmhouse corners. Machine made rugs bring easy everyday durability, while hand braided pieces add a warm, handcrafted feel. Round rugs soften a breakfast nook or entry, and rectangles ground a family room.
