Why we love Taos
Taos sits where the high desert opens into sage-covered mesa and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains rise in layers of blue and violet. The Rio Grande carves its dramatic gorge nearby, and the light here is famous: clear, golden and endlessly changing, the kind that has drawn artists and dreamers to northern New Mexico for generations. From Arroyo Seco to El Prado, Penasco to Costilla, the villages around Taos share a love of craft, open sky and unhurried mountain life.
That spirit lives indoors too. Think thick adobe walls, wood beams, kiva-style fireplaces and deep window sills that frame the mountains like paintings. A great rug is what makes those rooms feel finished, bringing softness underfoot and a little color to cool winter mornings. Shoppers around Taos are choosing cream, brown and gray, along with multicolor designs, and you can find them all on Rugs.com. Come explore what Taos loves and bring home a rug that feels like it belongs.
Shop Taos's favoritesLight That Warms Every Room
The high desert sun pours through deep adobe windows and lights up every floor. Cream, brown and gray rugs soak up that glow and keep rooms calm, earthy and bright.
Mountain Seasons Indoors
Snowy winters, golden aspen autumns and bright summer skies change how a home feels. A textured hand woven or hand braided rug adds warmth for cold mornings and still looks lovely in summer.
Adobe and Artful Living
Rounded walls, timber beams and handmade touches give Taos homes their soul. Modern, traditional or vintage rugs layer beautifully over earthen floors and complete a creative, collected room.
