Hand-knotted from 100% wool, this rug has a charcoal-black field woven with fine striations of blue, gray, brown and light brown that create a layered, tonal surface. A simple beige diamond lattice crosses the field in a relaxed, slightly irregular line, giving the piece a handcrafted geometric look. The wool pile has a low-to-medium, nubby texture and the natural fringe at each end adds casual finish; the overall effect is tactile without being heavy, with muted color highlights that reveal themselves up close.
