Hand-made from cowhide and leather, this rug is assembled from small square patches that form a refined checkerboard layout. The central field is a deep dark brown, punctuated by rich browns and black squares that create depth and subtle movement. A lighter border of beige, ivory, tan and mottled hide pieces frames the center, adding contrast with natural speckled and variegated patterns. Running your hand across the surface you feel the hair-on-hide texture—soft, slightly raised, and tactile—with the natural sheen and grain of leather visible at each seam.
