If you do buy this rug I highly recommend purchasing the rug pad to prevent it from sliding around on the floor.

But it's really soft and had no odor when we unwrapped it and laid it out. Would definitely recommend.

Be wary of vacuums with this type of rug. If you have a low setting def use that otherwise I recommend just sweeping most of the time.
