The piece
Kazak
A rich red field sets the stage for a traditional medallion layout with geometric florals and small rosette motifs in ivory, light blue, green and navy blue. An ivory guard border patterned with repeating star-like motifs and a narrow light-blue inner band frames the central design, while navy accents provide clear definition to the medallion and corner elements. Hand-knotted in 100% hand-spun wool, the surface has a textured, slightly nubby hand from the hand-spun yarns and a plush but structured feel underfoot, with subtle tonal variations that give the colors added depth.
