Product Description

Hand made of 100% wool, this rug presents a traditional Afghan-inspired pattern of repeating octagonal guls set against a warm red field. Each medallion is filled with finely detailed geometric and floral motifs in dark blue, green, orange, brown and cream, while smaller diamond motifs sit between the guls to create a measured, rhythmic layout. A richly patterned multi-band border in matching tones frames the composition, giving the piece a structured, finished look. The wool pile feels dense and springy underfoot with a subtle nap that adds depth to the red background and softens the overall handwoven texture.

The warm red and jewel-tone palette makes this rug well suited to classic living rooms, a study or library, or a dining space where it can anchor the table and seating. It pairs naturally with warm wood furniture, leather sofas, and brass or antique accents, and it can also bring color and pattern to a neutral, contemporary interior—use it to define a seating area or layer over hardwood floors to create an inviting focal point.
