The piece
Bidjar With Silk
A dense, allover lattice of tiny floral medallions fills the field of this hand-made wool rug with silk highlights, set against a rich red background. The repeating motif is finely detailed in cream and deep brown tones, while a wider red border frames the piece with larger palmettes and arabesque vine work. Running your hand across the surface you’ll notice a firm, low pile—wool provides weight and texture while silk threads catch the light to pick out the pattern’s finer details with a subtle sheen.
