The world of tribal rugs is vast and exciting. What we call "tribal rugs" are typically traditional rugs created by the nomadic and semi-nomadic peoples of Anatolia (modern-day Turkey) and central Asia. As these tribes began to settle down into villages, towns, and cities the definition has expanded to include any designs inspired by the traditions of those ancient tribes.
Unlike the intricate and floral designs commonly found in hand-knotted Oriental or Persian rugs, the tribal rugs on Rugs.com feature bold, geometric designs and beautiful natural materials and dyes. One of the most common styles of a tribal rug is the Kilim. In this style, artisans tightly weave brightly colored strands into striking geometric patterns. Typically, these are flatweave rugs, meaning the density of the rug's fibers are short or have low pile height.
Despite their long history, tribal rugs can fit right in with contemporary décor. The geometric patterns commonly found in tribal rugs perfectly complement the sleek design of modern furniture. Meanwhile, the natural materials can give even the most contemporary homes a rustic feel. Regardless of the look you are going for, there is a beautiful tribal rug for you on Rugs.com. The moment I unrolled this carpet out of the wrapping, I knew it was meant for me. The warm honey colors, the teals, and umber reds add depth to my living space. The hand of the short plush pile feels just like wool. Appearing as if I paid much more, this charming multi-colored geometric rug had become the focal point of my living room.
Rugs.com is a great company. This is my second purchase from them, and I can't recommend them enough. This is possibly one of the most beautiful rugs I've ever seen. It's traditional, but not in an old way. It looks very expensive, and adds elegance to my living room. The pictures do not do it justice as it is breathtaking in person.
Bought the “mostly beige” in 8x11 and a runner. It is more white, which is what I suspected by the picture and indeed it was. Worth the money- but not high quality like u get from traditional rug store For those who complain that it comes folded....you can’t expect to get a huge rug, lay it out and put all the things u want on it and for it to be flat. I flipped a dining table over and laid it on the middle of the rug and moved toward the edges everyday. Took me 3 days to get this baby flat but it’s FLAT- no more creases or crinkles. BEWARE: The super pad sucks. It will not help hold a runner in place it’s more to add thickness. Neither of mine fit properly under either rug. The 8x11 pad was cut to small and the runner pad was way to big. Waste of money in my opinion. SUPER PRO: phone customer service was awesome! Could not ask for a better online rug store to purchase from- for real
I've had this rug for about 3 weeks...I wanted to get used to it and get my family's opinion of it as well. We all agree that the color is absolutely gorgeous; it's a just-plush-enough expanse of very bright and cheery fuchsia broken with splashes of orange, patches of ice blue, and geometric patterns in black, purple, puce, and brown. A soft and luxurious pleasure to stretch out on, this beautiful rug adds the touch of elegance I wanted for our den at a very affordable price.
